Lots of reasons! To touch on a few… We rent brand new, high-end equipment with numerous upgrades that our customers deserve. Attention to detail and customer service is very important to us. A substantial portion of our business is repeat customers because they like the services we offer and we value their business. We are family owned and operated.
Renters must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license, however some boats may require a minimum age of 21. Boating experience is helpful, but we do provide training the day of your rental and have additional training tools and links on our website. All potential drivers must be present when picking up your rental.
We require a matching credit card and valid driver’s license of an adult who is present.
Yes, all boats require a contract to be signed by an adult.
Yes, $1000 damage deposit is required on your credit card the day of the rental. Physical damage is at the renter’s expense. Damage can happen but is rare if renters use the provided equipment, training and common sense.
At the time of your reservation, we will discuss what time works best for you. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. The reason we schedule rentals is to expedite the process and make sure your boat is clean and ready to go. Please plan to arrive promptly at your scheduled time with all drivers.

Boats are always clean and full of fuel at the beginning of your rental. Renters pay for the fuel used, however, we can top if off for you when you return. There are several locations on Gull Lake that also sell fuel and we will provide more details the day of your rental.
Yes, but space is limited on the boat, so be realistic on what is needed. We do ask that you limit it to 1-2 coolers, 48 quart or less. Larger coolers are not allowed since they take up too much space, cut into the weight capacity and can cause damage as they shift around the boat. Drivers may not drink alcohol.
Yes. Gull Lake is one of the premier lakes in Minnesota and has something to offer everyone. There are 4+ restaurants that have docks where you can secure your boat and enjoy patio or indoor dining. Many of the resorts also have restaurants and services open to the public. The Gull Lake Chain offers a variety of both large and small lakes depending upon your plan for the day. Some may prefer a more social vacation, while others may enjoy a peaceful cove. We will go over a map and help make suggestions. We do serve other area lakes as well.
It covers 9,947 acres, which places it in the upper 5% of lakes in Minnesota in terms of size. Gull Lake is part of a chain of lakes that consists of 8 lakes and connecting channels covering 13,000 acres. We do serve other area lakes as well.
Yes. Most resorts will have lake maps available along with area bait stores. If you are staying on Gull Lake, we will provide a map along with guidance back to your cabin. All of our pontoons and tri-toons have a GPS with a moving map, which greatly assists and helps highlight areas to avoid.
The maximum capacity will be indicated on our website for each model. The official capacity plate will be mounted in each boat. All persons, regardless of age, count towards the maximum person capacity. Maximum capacity is calculated by both quantity of people and weight, neither of which can be exceeded. Many of the manufactures use an average weight of approximately 140 lbs, so plan accordingly when selecting your rental. Our performance tritoons offer an increased capacity option for larger groups.
Yes, everyone must have a properly sized lifejacket. Children less than 10 years of age are required to wear lifejackets aboard watercraft in Minnesota when the craft is under way. We strongly recommended all kids wear them along with adults who are not strong swimmers. Each boat will have lifejackets to meet the capacity. Ski vests up to 3X are available at no charge and are required for all ages when on a towable (tube, skis, wakeboard, kneeboard…). Kids’ lifejackets are sized as follows: 0-30lbs, 30-50lbs & 50-90lbs. Please let us know the day of your rental if kids’ vests or ski vests need to be added to your boat.
Yes. All of our pontoons and tritoons feature a GPS/Fish Finder, which is helpful when fishing. The “fishing models” feature live wells and different seating options for those who are more serious about fishing.
Yes, at your own risk. We strongly recommend all wear lifejackets. The boat should be anchored / secured and in a safe area away from boat traffic.
No. We do this out of respect for our guests who may have allergies.
